​Teresa Martin - Kindergarten Teacher/Director
I am a qualified Primary Education Teacher from Spain and I have been living in Australia for the last 10 years. I became an Early Years Education Teacher in Australia a few years ago and have been working in different Early Childhood Centres in Mossman, Port Douglas and Cairns for the past 7 years. I am really excited to be part of the team at Sunbird Children's Centre and part of your little one's learning journey.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education - Foreign Language
CHC50113 - Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

Carla Young - Childcare Educator
Hi - I am Carla. I have worked here at the Sunbird Children's Centre in Julatten since 2021. I also work at the Goodstart Childcare in Mossman and Vacation Care in Port Douglas.
I have completed my Cert. III in Early Childhood Education and Care and am currently studying my Diploma in early Childhood Education and Care. 
I am still developing my knowledge and skills everyday and I really enjoy working in this environment.
I have lived in Julatten my whole life and in my spare time I enjoy water-skiing and gardening.

Sharine Morelli - Childcare Educator
Hi - I'm Sharine. I grew up in Mt Molloy and have recently returned after 12 fantastic years in Port Hedland, WA. While there, I was part of the local Volunteer Fire Brigade, where I met my partner and started my own little tribe - two boys and a girl, who keep life wonderfully chaotic.
In 2009, I completed my Diploma of Children's Services and I've been immersed in the work of childcare ever since, bouncing between daycare and school environments. Now that I'm back in Mt Molloy, I'm beyond excited to meet all the amazing children and families here at the centre.

Julia McMillan - Childcare Educator
Hi - I'm Julia. I have been living in Australia for the past 7 years. I was born in Germany and during my time there I completed a Masters of Education. I am now married with 2 small children. After being a stay-at-home mum for a few years I am excited to return to work in childcare and education.
We recently moved from Bribie Island to Maryfarms. We enjoy spending most of our time with the farm animals and swimming in the creek. When I'm not playing with my children, I love to find some time for reading, dancing or listening to music.
I am looking forward to contributing to the educational growth and development of the children at Sunbird Children's Centre.

Anne Gallagher - Administrator
I have worked at the Julatten Community Centre since 2006 and before that, I was a volunteer on the Committee. My son was in the very first kindergarten class at the centre and all of my children have utilised the services here over the years. I love watching the next generation of children enjoying what we have to offer at the Julatten Community Centre and watching their progress as they learn and grow.

Tan Dickson - Community Support Worker
I love my job because I want to help and be involved in the community in which I live. I came to Julatten almost 30 years ago. My 3 children were born and bred here. They have all utilised the centre during the years. 
I have been actively involved in local community groups such as President of Julatten Playgroup, P&C Executive member of the Julatten SS P&C Committee for over 8 years when my children attended Julatten school.
I have been working at the Community Centre for over 10 years now as a Community Support Worker building relationships and supporting families within the community. We feel so lucky to be living in this beautiful part of the world.
